About

I’m a Canadian author and songwriter based in Norfolk, England. My first novel, ‘Medicine Song‘, was self-published in 2017 and was largely inspired by my experiences over the years performing at greenfield music festivals like Glastonbury, Stainsby Festival and The Green Gathering. Though I enjoy performing solo and have recorded four original albums of songs, most of all I love my musical collaborations, which include a duo with Chris Ellis, and a harmony-filled four-piece, Hand to Hand, with Mal Darwen and Delagh King.

I recently graduated with an MA in Creative Writing from UEA and am developing several pieces which reflect my love of nature. This includes my dissertation, which is a work of speculative environmental fiction, depicting a possible, yet hopeful way to a sustainable, healthy planet. I am grateful to the Green Stories Novel Prize for awarding a previous version of this manuscript (titled ‘The Norfolk Re-Creation Hub’) joint second place in their 2023 novel competition.
